I had planned on staying in this weekend, just relaxing, watching movies and catching up on emails. But it seems that after all my complaining about the premature fall that descended on Paris in August, Summer has decided to show its face for one last glorious weekend which I plan on fully taking advantage of.
First up, food. There’s nothing better than getting up early and heading to your local café’s terrace for breakfast. The early morning sunlight gently wakes you while enjoying the still silent city.
Next, a light workout. I’ve been going to an indoor pool for a couple weeks and I love it! I don’t think there’s a better workout that doesn’t inflict serious pain. I can then lounge by the outdoor pool and treat myself to a timeout in the jacuzzi. As the french say: “Après l’effort, le réconfort.” (after hard work or effort, you deserve to lean back and relax.)
A leisurely picnic on the quai by the Île Saint-Louis is always fun, followed by a stop at Berthillon, the best ice-cream known to man in this fair city.
A bit of culture with a quick stop by the Hussein Chalayan exhibit and off to drinks to where I started my day, on yet another Parisian terrace.
So tell me do you have anything planned out for this weekend?
On that note, a very Bon Weekend to you!
Well this has been one crazy hectic fashion-filled week! Last night, Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) took place and boy was it entertaining. The lines were horrendously long to get into the shops but in my opinion, the real show was on the streets. Paris fashion generally leans towards understated elegance and classicism but last night, so many sartorial styles, colors and patterns were on display it reminded me a bit of New York. I’ve made a mental note for next year to bring along a folding chair, so that I can just sit back, relax and people watch all night long! It completely inspired me to pursue my own artistic endeavors (which I’ll tell you about very soon).
On that note, I’ve left you with a view from my apartment that always seems to calm me down when things feel a bit overwhelming and in honor of the Vogue FNO, one of my favorite covers of the magazine dating back to 1949, recently added to my growing collection of vintage illustrations. I plan on heading out this weekend in search of a Dior ad dating back to the 60’s. Wish me luck in finding it!
What are you up to this weekend?
A very Bon Weekend to you!
These past few months have been non-stop work and when I look in the mirror, I can see the toll it’s taken on me. I look and feel washed out, tired and clearly in need of a pick-me-up relaxing weekend.
My solution? A two day pampering party. Comfy pajamas, plush warm socks, soothing scents, replenishing beauty products and nourishing reads. A weekend spent feeding my mind, body and soul that will put me back on track so that I can be ready to kick it into high gear come next week and the beginning of fashion season.
So tell me, what’s your pick-me-up solution?
On that note, a very Bon Weekend to you!

After five days straight spent working a my desk, I really feel the need to get a good workout in to unwind and release all the past week’s accumulated stress. But I am not a huge fan of the gym and have been looking for an original workout. I came across this video on Madame Figaro’s website introducing trampoline classes for adults. How cool is that!? Last time I got on a trampoline was in my grandparent’s backyard some fifteen years ago. You get to spend an hour jumping around and letting loose just like you did as a kid. Love it!

For a more relaxing workout, I like to head to my favorite local pool, do laps for 30 minutes and if weather permitting, relax and sunbath in their exterior garden.
