Madame Grès Exhibit

I finally got to the Madame Grès exhibit at the Musée Bourdelle and I have to say I was in for a treat. It not only showcased designs spanning from the 1930’s to the 1980’s but sketches, illustrations and messages Madame Grès jotted down in her little notepad. Her design aesthetic was so modern and forward thinking. The dress above, if you can believe it dates back to the 40’s and clearly inspired many current designers’ love of plissé and grecian gowns. Don’t take my word for it, go check it out yourself, the exhibit’s been prolonged until August 28th.
